OCR A Level Chemistry Exam Technique Specialist: I help students prepare to move from B–C to A–A

I have over 15 years of tutoring experience helping A-Level Chemistry students improve their exam performance.

I help OCR A Level Chemistry students who understand the content but struggle in exams turn B–C grades into A–A* through structured exam technique training. Each session focuses on three things:
1. Concept clarity We rebuild difficult topics such as equilibria, thermodynamics, and organic mechanisms so they make sense.
2. Mark scheme language Students learn exactly how examiners award marks and how to structure answers.
3. Exam application We practise past paper questions under timed conditions and analyse mistakes.
This approach helps students translate understanding into marks.
As well 1:1s, I also run small group programmes - weekly 75-minute sessions focused on exam questions and mark scheme technique. Designed for year 13s preparing for their final A Level exams.
All sessions are recorded for playback and include:
• High level exam questions
• Mark scheme analysis
• Personal feedback on common mistakes made.
Small groups allow students to learn from each other's reasoning while still receiving individual attention. Throughout, parents receive regular progress updates. Price listed is for groups. Trial sessions are £15.
