Bonjour! My French lessons will be interactive, fun, and tailored to children’s needs. Since I know that kids learn best when they are engaged, having fun and comfortable, I like to use a mix of activities like games, songs, stories and visuals to learn vocabulary and incorporate reading and writing as well as simple conversations or roleplay to practice speaking with confidence while still making the lesson structured, flexible and effective. For each lesson, I would focus on one specific theme (like colors, animals, food, or greetings), and ending with a fun recap or game. I adapt to each student’s pace and level. Moreover, I can also provide help in French homework and adapt my lesson based on that specific homework.
In regards to my experience, while I’m new to private tutoring, I have experience working with younger children and I know how to keep learning lighthearted but effective. I’ve been a student at the French International school in Tokyo from 5 to 18 years old and I understand the challenges of learning a second language, which helps me explain things clearly and with patience.
During my lessons, I plan to focus on the child's confidence, not perfection. I believe that children should feel excited to try speaking French without fear of mistakes.
I want to make sure that my lessons don't feel like "extra homework" or something a child doesn't want to look forward to. Therefore, I will bring in creative tools (like drawing, flashcards, songs, games) to really provide a rich, engaging and fun lesson while ensuring a nice immersive studious environment for the child to learn French.
I really hope that I can have the great opportunity to teach children French!!
