My lessons are shaped by over three decades of professional practice as an artist, educator, and mentor. I bring a calm, encouraging presence to each session, creating a space where students feel safe to explore, experiment, and grow at their own pace.

I focus on strong foundations in drawing and painting—observation, proportion, tone, colour, composition, and material understanding—while also nurturing creativity, confidence, and personal expression. Whether a student is a complete beginner, developing their skills, or returning to art after many years, I adapt each lesson to suit their individual needs, goals, and learning style.

My teaching draws on a broad background in fine art, illustration, costume design, and art therapy. This allows me to explain complex ideas simply, demonstrate processes clearly, and guide students step by step without pressure or judgement. I place great importance on helping students truly see—slowing down, observing carefully, and trusting their instincts as artists.

Lessons are structured yet flexible, balancing clear guidance with room for curiosity and discovery. I encourage questions, reflection, and creative problem-solving, helping students build both technical skill and self-belief. Many students come to art feeling unsure or disconnected from their creativity; my role is to help them reconnect, gain confidence, and take genuine pride in their progress.

Above all, I believe learning art should feel engaging, supportive, and deeply rewarding.
