Sochima Nwobia

Hi! I’m Sochima, a qualified teacher with a Masters in Robotics, BSc in Computer Science from Brunel University and a PGCE in Secondary Education from the University of Cumbria. I have over five years of experience teaching maths and computing to students aged 11 to Adult, in classrooms, one-to-one sessions, and online. I’ve worked with learners of all abilities—from those aiming for top grades to those needing foundational support—and I tailor every lesson to meet each student’s needs.

My lessons are structured to balance understanding, practice, and progress. We start with a short review task to identify gaps or reinforce previous learning, then move into new material using clear, step-by-step explanations. I always teach multiple methods for solving problems, so students develop flexible thinking and long-term confidence. Whether we’re working through quadratic equations or Python syntax, I help you break things down and build your skills in a practical, useful way.

To track your improvement, I include low-stakes quizzes, revision games, and quick tasks to keep things engaging and measurable. I also use real-world examples where possible to show how maths and coding apply beyond the classroom.

I’ve taught students aged 11 to 18, in secondary schools, colleges, and I have also taught adult learning environments. I’m passionate about helping learners overcome challenges, and I believe every student can improve with the right guidance and encouragement.
