I am an enthusiastic Mathematics Tutor holding a Mathematics MSci degree (1st Class honours) from University of Birmingham.
My approach to teaching is to tailor all lessons to my students' specific ability level and learning preferences, so that all students display progress and gain confidence during every session.
My professional experience is quite varied since graduating from university in 2013. I have taught snowboarding and English abroad, so I have experience in teaching new and difficult concepts and seeing how students benefit from tailored teaching methods and a structed programme to enhance progress.
I have also worked as an Actuary in London for 10 years, a profession that requires a strong ability to explain difficult mathematical concepts to less understanding audiences, a skill that translates very well into Mathematics tutoring.
All lessons are tailored to my students' specific abilities and requirements, focusing on true understanding of the material before on to preparation for exam style questions and focusing on exam technique.
Lesson structure can be driven by my students preferences, whether they simply need help with homework, or I can provide a structured programme that follows their exams syllabus for GCSE, AS-LEVEL OR A-LEVEL (AQA, Edexcel, OCR, IB HL & SL). In all cases, we will work together to build confidence and ability as exams approach, using a combination of previous real exam questions and custom written questions to focus on the areas and topics that need more attention than others. My aim is to ultimately have my students entering the exam hall, feeling as confident as possible.
