As a PhD-qualified science professional, I combine strong academic expertise with a calm, approachable teaching style that helps students build confidence as well as subject knowledge. Whether a student is preparing for exams, improving grades, or developing deeper understanding, I adapt each lesson to ensure steady and measurable progress.

I believe it is important for students to learn to 'think like a scientist'. Lessons are highly interactive rather than lecture-based. I encourage students to ask questions freely, think critically, and actively work through problems with guidance and support. Complex scientific concepts are broken down into clear, manageable steps using real-world examples, diagrams, and exam-focused techniques where appropriate. I also focus on developing effective study habits, problem-solving skills, and scientific reasoning, helping students become more independent learners over time.

Typically, lessons begin with a short review of previous material to reinforce understanding, followed by targeted teaching and guided practice on new topics. I use tailored worksheets, past-paper questions, and structured feedback to identify strengths and areas for improvement. Students receive clear explanations, constructive encouragement, and practical strategies they can apply immediately in school or exams.

Above all, I aim to create a positive learning environment where students feel comfortable, motivated, and capable of succeeding. My goal is not only to improve academic performance, but also to help students develop lasting confidence in their abilities and enjoyment of science. I have experience teaching GCSE Chemistry, Biology, and Physics and A-level Chemistry.
