I'm an Economics undergraduate at University College London (UCL), and I tutor Maths and Further Maths at all levels, Economics at all levels, and verbal and non-verbal reasoning for 11+ and 13+ entrance exams. Whatever the stage, early secondary, GCSE, A-Level or entrance prep. my aim is the same: to turn a subject that can feel intimidating into something a student genuinely understands and can perform under pressure.
My lessons are structured but never rigid. I usually open by diagnosing exactly where a student is getting stuck, because most difficulties in Maths and Economics come from a shaky foundation rather than the topic in front of them. From there I build intuition first and mechanics second, so students understand why a method works before drilling it. For Maths and Further Maths I lean heavily on worked examples, past-paper technique, and pinpointing precisely where marks are being lost. For Economics I connect theory to real-world events and current markets, and place a strong emphasis on diagram fluency and evaluation, the skills that separate a good essay from a top one.
For 11+ and 13+ reasoning, I break every question type down into a repeatable strategy, then build speed and accuracy through timed practice. Just as importantly, I work on exam confidence, so young students walk in calm rather than rattled.
Between lessons I set targeted practice and give clear feedback, so progress continues rather than resets each week. Sessions are interactive, patient and paced to the individual, I adapt constantly rather than delivering a fixed script.
