My lessons are designed to be engaging, supportive and tailored to each student's individual needs. I understand that everyone learns differently, so I aim to create a comfortable environment where students feel confident asking questions, exploring ideas and developing their understanding of Sociology at their own pace.
I am currently studying a BA in Politics and Sociology at university, having previously studied Sociology at A-Level. This has given me a strong foundation in sociological theories, research methods, social inequalities and the institutions that shape society. I am passionate about the subject and enjoy helping students understand how sociological concepts relate to the world around them.
My lessons are structured around each student's individual goals, whether that involves understanding challenging topics, revising key sociologists and theories, practising exam questions or improving essay-writing skills. I aim to break down complex concepts into clear, manageable explanations and use real-world examples to make the content easier to understand and remember.
For GCSE students, I focus on building a strong foundation of sociological knowledge and developing familiarity with exam questions. For A-Level students, I place greater emphasis on evaluating different perspectives, applying knowledge to contemporary issues and developing the critical thinking skills needed to construct well-supported arguments.
I also believe that learning should be interactive rather than simply memorising information. I encourage students to ask questions, share their perspectives and actively engage with the material. By identifying areas for improvement and building on existing strengths, I aim to help students become more independent and confident learners.
Ultimately, my goal is to make Sociology accessible and enjoyable while helping students develop the knowledge, skills and confidence they need to succeed in their exams.
