I've taught in various high schools in the Glasgow area and have encountered various different students with different needs, abilities and areas they get stuck. My approach is to build a solid foundation of the basics and work exam technique in, as well as targeting specific areas where the student struggles.

This approach allows us to make the most amount of sustainable progress quickly, to build their level of language and to be best placed to tackle their exams. I have also tutored for many years and have had great success with this strategy. The lessons will contain elements of each of the 4 skills tested at exams; Speaking, Listening, Writing and Reading and we will work together to tackle each skill and ensure we are as strong as we can be with knowledge and exam technique!
The first few lessons will likely target key grammar points to build a base where we can build this technique around!

Within the lessons I am easy going and focus on creating a positive learning environment where we can make mistakes (there will be lots!) and learn from them.

Many lessons will tackle issues that have arisen with homework and work done in class so we can focus on and correct errors and understand where knowledge is lacking and we can correct.

There are a finite amount of topics that can arise and a set variance of language/grammar that can arise in these exams so we can prepare them well and ensure we perform to our best!
