In my experience of teaching, I prefer to work with the student to get a good grasp of where their English speaking skills are. After assessing these skills, I focus on forming a strategy unique to the student that will help them progress even further. I believe that every student needs patience and confidence to perform to the best of their ability. Based on this belief, I always encourage students to practice often, to not give up and to stay patient with themselves. In each lesson I have a different agenda for each different student. My lessons have a main purpose to improve each of the following; reading and comprehension, grammar and conversation practice. I like to use an interesting theme for the lesson and then incorporate it into improving the above mentioned skills. I also always include vocabulary time to help students widen their vocabularies as well as practice using the new words in their sentences. This helps the students understand what the words mean and use them in the correct contexts. I have just over 3 years of experience and it has taught me many skills to be able to engage with all kinds of students. I enjoy meeting all the new personalities and helping them advance their English speaking abilities. I have come to find more enjoyment in seeing students' confidence levels increase every time they start to progress in areas where they once struggled. Learning a new language is fun and rewarding. It is for this very reason that I do what I do. I look forward to meeting new students in the future :)
