It has been my pleasure teaching private lessons to university students and adults for three years now. I use Word and PowerPoint to teach online, as well as a lot of conversation and exercise platforms such as Quizlet or Wordwall. My lessons are practice based, because the more practice you get, the more you master the skill on the long term. Another main benefit of one-on-one tutoring is the fact that a tutor can answer all questions immediately, which makes for a much easier and more efficient learning process, where the student can put the pieces together faster - which is essentially what learning a language means. I focus on encouraging my students to ask questions and make as many mistakes as they have to. Feeling comfortable in a language that is challenging at times is the first important milestone in achieving your goal!! I am dedicated to make sure my students feel supported and know that they're spending their money and their time wisely and productively. Depending on the student and their objectives, strengths and weaknesses, I teach grammar, conjugation and syntax through conversation and written support documents for a solid future reference, and I teach spelling visually. Regular practice, more than any other aspect of learning a language, is key; I give my students literature and movie references, exercises that I have made on online platforms and documents to practice at home year-round to ensure that progress is never lost - even in an environment where you don't have access to the language, French becomes a part of your daily life.
