Olivia-Chineze Riddle

Hello! I'm Olivia, a linguistics graduate from Cambridge (MPhil, Distinction) and York (BA First Class Honours), teaching English to learners of all ages and levels from conversational english and precise grammar to exam prep (IELTS, TOEFL, Cambridge exams) as well as English necessray to flourish in the academic or professional sphere.

Format: Lessons are one-to-one or small groups online and built around you. I will start by understanding your level and goals (an exam, a job interview, university applications, or just more confidence in day-to-day English) then tailor a plan rather than following a generic course.

Content: Each lesson blends grammar, vocabulary, and pronunciation with real, practical speaking and listening practice to understand how English is really used by native spekaers and understanding the social rules behind languge rather than just its technical grammar. For exams, we will work through past papers and technique alongside the underlying skills, so you understand why an answer works. I will keep things interactive, adjust pace as we go, and give honest, regular feedback.

Experience: My linguistics background means I understand English structurally, not just fluently. I've worked as a research assistant on a sociolinguistics project analysing spoken English using specialist transcription software, giving me a sharp ear for pronunciation and natural speech. I've also spent years mentoring students one-to-one at Cambridge and York, so I'm used to explaining clearly, adapting to different learners, and keeping things relaxed enough that mistakes are okay.
