Naomi Bray

I have experience working with photoshop and Lightroom editing software, as well as dabbling in cameraless photography work. I have produced multiple digital and physical portfolios with detailed annotations, artists research and creative developments. I engage in multiple disciplines; considering physical art forms within my presented pieces. My work has been used as the predominant piece within a sixth form exhibit and I was also selected to compete in the regional heats of the ARTiculation prize - in which my analysis of photography was judged at the Courtauld institute of art alongside others. My tutoring will be flexible to the persons needs, but will mainly focus on technical photography skills, photographic genres, the use of light, editing software, artist research, analysis and ways to develop a theme or topic further. The aim of my teaching is to help others feel confident and equipped as they release their creative potential, I will also encourage my students to find their own unique style within photography, hoping for this not only to be a skill learnt but a passion and way of self expression. The dynamics of my teaching will be 1-1 sessions but I am open to group work as well. I will also encourage assignments in between my sessions to push my students to their full potential. Technical aspects of photography such as ISO, Shutter speed, Aperture, Colour grading, composition and depth of field will be taught in depth, varying in levels of advancement and creativity (as led by the student). I am based in Durham city centre during term time and Essex within holiday periods - my lessons can either be online or in person to accommodate this.
