My lessons are one-to-one and built around your own portfolio, so we work directly on the images and coursework you're producing rather than generic exercises. Each session covers a mix of practical shooting technique, editing, and how to develop a personal visual voice, alongside honest feedback on composition, technical control, sequencing and presentation to keep your work aligned with exam-board expectations. Sessions run at a pace that suits you, whether that's a one-off portfolio review before a deadline or ongoing tutoring across the course, and I draw on my own experience as a working photographer, shooting internationally in motorsport and editorial work, to give feedback that reflects how photography actually works outside the classroom.
A typical session usually starts with a review of your most recent work, talking through what's working and what needs pushing further before we set clear, practical goals for the following weeks. From there we might work through shooting exercises tailored to your chosen genre, whether that's portraiture, documentary or studio-based work, followed by hands-on editing in Lightroom or Photoshop so you build a workflow you can use independently. I also set small tasks between sessions to keep momentum going, and we build in time closer to deadlines for focused, structured critique of your final selections and sequencing. Sessions can run in person or online depending on what suits you, and I keep the pace and content flexible so lessons genuinely reflect where you are in the course, whether you're just starting your portfolio or preparing final pieces for submission.
