Mimi Marinho

As a Modern Languages and Translation graduate from the University of Nottingham, I create lessons that are engaging, supportive, and tailored to each student’s individual goals and learning style. I have experience teaching and tutoring students of different ages and abilities, including delivering English lessons in France and running my own online French tutoring business for GCSE and A-Level students.
My lessons are structured but flexible, with a strong focus on building confidence alongside improving language skills. Depending on the student’s needs, lessons may include conversational practice, grammar exercises, pronunciation support, vocabulary building, reading and listening activities, or exam preparation. I adapt the pace and teaching methods to suit each learner, ensuring lessons remain interactive, encouraging, and easy to follow.
For exam-focused students, I provide support with revision techniques, speaking practice, essay structure, and comprehension skills. For students learning English more generally, I focus on practical communication and creating a relaxed environment where they feel comfortable making mistakes and improving naturally.
I believe language learning should feel approachable and enjoyable, so I always aim to create positive and personalised lessons that help students feel motivated, capable, and more confident in their language abilities. My experience working in both educational and customer-facing environments has also strengthened my communication, patience, and interpersonal skills, allowing me to build positive relationships with students and create a comfortable learning atmosphere.
