Maryama Hammi

I’m Maryama Hammi, an experienced Chemistry and Science tutor with over six years of teaching experience in secondary and post-16 education. I hold a PhD in Materials Science and am currently completing a PhD in Engineering, which allows me to explain even the most complex Chemistry concepts in a clear and accessible way.

My lessons are tailored to each student, whether they are preparing for GCSE, A-Level, or simply looking to build confidence in Chemistry. I focus on creating a supportive, engaging, and interactive learning environment, where students feel encouraged to ask questions, explore ideas, and take ownership of their learning.

I use a variety of teaching methods, including step-by-step explanations, worked examples, problem-solving exercises, and digital tools to make lessons dynamic and effective. I also help students develop study skills, organisation strategies, and exam techniques, ensuring that learning extends beyond the lesson.

Building confidence and motivation is a key part of my approach. I celebrate progress, set achievable goals, and adapt my teaching to suit each student’s learning style, pace, and strengths.

I am fully trained in Safeguarding, Prevent Duty, and FGM awareness (January 2026), so students can learn in a safe and professional environment.
