I have been tutoring for 5+ years via online 1-to-1 sessions.
In my lessons, I engage pupils in the topic of their choice. I normally ask a day in advance what topic you are struggling with and want to cover. We then go over the theory together first. I will always start by asking you what you know about the topic already: this can be anything (right or wrong). In my class, making mistakes is a must. I prefer that you speak what's on your mind, even though you might think it is not correct. Being comfortable in making mistakes is the only way to learn.
I cover the theory by using funny anecdotes, analogies, or experiences from my own career/education as scientist in a lab. When you understand the basics, we test your knowledge and understanding of said topics.
When all the theory is covered, I work with you on exam style questions to prepare you for the real deal! You will start to recognise the familiar style in which exam questions are written and once you've gone over plenty of them, you will nail your own.
