My lessons are built around you. Before we start, I find out what you want to achieve and what your level is, then I shape each session around that. There is no fixed syllabus because everyone learns differently and has different reasons for picking up German.
A typical lesson is conversation-led. We talk, and I introduce vocabulary, grammar, and pronunciation as they come up naturally. I correct things in the moment and explain them in plain English so they actually stick. If something needs more structure, I will put together exercises or scenarios that match your goals, whether that is ordering food confidently on holiday, handling a work call, or understanding a German film without subtitles.
I grew up in Germany and have been living in the UK for years, so I know exactly where English speakers get tripped up. I use both languages every day at work and at home, which means I can explain things from both sides rather than just translating word for word.
Lessons are relaxed and practical, but I will push you. I do not let you coast. In my day job I lead operations teams, and a big part of that is understanding how people learn, spotting where they are holding back, and getting them past it. I bring that same approach to my lessons. I set small goals, hold you to them, and make sure you are progressing rather than just going through the motions.
No textbook drills for the sake of it, no pressure to be perfect, but expect to be challenged. The aim is to get you speaking and understanding real German as quickly as possible, and that means stepping outside your comfort zone regularly.
