I am a trained and professional chemistry
educator with more than twelve years of experience in teaching chemistry using the
National Curriculum of England. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry, a
PGDE, and UK QTS. I also hold the Cambridge Assessment International Education IGCSE Chemistry (0620) Extension, Cambridge Lower Secondary Checkpoint for Global Perspectives (1129) and I have done several training courses on the Partners Schools Global Network Council. My aim has always been to instill interest of chemistry in learners regardless of their level and age.
During the entire span of my career, I have put in place measures that have enabled
learners to develop an interest in chemistry as well as confidence in themselves.
Using blended instruction, self-pacing, and mastery grading, I manage to set a
student-oriented environment which promotes learning. Active learning is at the core of my instructional pedagogies and such teaching encourages students’ initiative
towards their learning which makes it easier to grasp even sophisticated scientific
ideas. In my current and past jobs, I have created and practiced effective lesson plans
with a clear focus on practical experiments, the use of appropriate technology, and
group work. Such approaches have always enhanced a high percentage pass in
IGCSE and A-level Chemistry with many students advancing to study science. The
teaching methodology that I incorporate in my classes enhances the students' in-
depth understanding of scientific concepts while at the same time equipping them
with problem-solving approaches that enable real-life scenarios.
Furthermore, I am a teacher who assists students with the potential of being
exceptional, to soar even higher, impacting knowledge to students of varying
aptitude and background using different teaching methods to meet the learners'
needs. Because of my passion and dedication to improving student academics, I was recognized by The Centre for Ethics and Self Value Orientation (CESVO) for
promoting ethical leadership and providing ethical education in Nigeria.
In addition, I am well organized, diligent, and have good communication and time
management skills, I can be involved in the life of the school and contribute to
projects aimed at improving the quality of education. In addition to the activities
performed in the classroom, I like working with students and other colleagues as
well. I have organized workshops for teachers on curriculum and assessment
development and best practices for their further improvement. I’m keenly looking
forward to the possibility of finding a place on your team and bringing my passion
for science education to your school. Over the years, I have demonstrated solid
subject mastery, a wide range of accomplishments, and motivation to be a role model to the young generation of scientists. I believe I can greatly contribute to the development of your students both academically and in extracurricular activities.
