My usual methods can be changed and altered if preferred- I have no problem adopting a students preferred teaching and learning style!
For students at beginners level, I usually start with grammar and phonics, alongside teaching reading, writing and speaking. (Of course this can be altered if a student prefers only speaking). The way I teach these in person are through universally recognisable actions, where we draw the verbs, or advance onto reading common English conversations whilst acting them out to understand fully what is being said. However, of course, this differs for online. We can do the same, however I also have Learning English books! For online students, I can send over a copy of the pages we’ll be going over in the next lesson so you’re prepared, and we can go through them in the class. For in person students, I can bring the books with me and we can learn from there.
For infants and young children, don’t worry, I also have books and classes suitable for them! I have lots of experience teaching young children from my voluntary work in primary schools, where I have taught students who speak little English different subjects.
Alongside this, for advanced or advancing students- including those at a level academic standards or university level education- I have notes, books and classes suitable for these students too. I have taught four students in the past year that were at this level, and they have excelled in their grades! If there are any specific requests, I’m all ears??
