I have a BA (Hons) Creative Writing degree, an MSc International Business degree, and a relentless desire to help you succeed in your English and Maths exams.

I studied English Language/Literature and Mathematics at A Level and GCSE, achieving high grades in the subjects, and have several years of tutoring experience.

I believe in active participation, encouraging students to express themselves through activities, exercises, and mock practice. I offer support as needed so that they feel confident in approaching each activity.

My background in writing and publishing allows me to teach English in a way that goes beyond textbooks. I help students develop not just basic language skills and exam techniques, but also an appreciation for English as a tool for communication and self-expression.

When teaching Maths, I focus on simplifying complex concepts, building problem-solving strategies, and boosting confidence in tackling challenging topics and handling exam questions.

Honestly, I couldn't have finished my first year without Sandy. I was ready to give up before discovering her on Find Tutors. Sandy is warm, caring, and gentle in her approach. She patiently explained questions and drew information out of me. Her intelligence and skill in teaching are remarkable, she knows how to bring out the best in you. Plus, her rates are very affordable compared to other tutors, which I couldn't afford before. I was amazed that sometimes I had 2-3 hour sessions without paying much. My daughter uses Sandy as her tutor. I'm honestly going to say that it was the best decision we have made for a long time. She is attentive and really cares about improving all items which need addressing . I would 100% recommend her as all areas My daughter was struggling with have improved no end.
