About me:
A Nottingham-based tutor, I teach Year 6 through GCSE and A-Level Maths, with a clear focus on exam performance and results. I offer both online and in-person sessions (within Nottingham).

I have a BA in Creative Writing and an MSc in International Business, where I studied finance, data analysis, and worked extensively with spreadsheets. Combined with my high grades in IGCSE and A-Level Maths, this means I understand mathematical concepts and can explain them clearly and practically.

I’m patient, calm, and flexible in my teaching style. Pupils find me easy to talk to and feel comfortable asking questions, which helps them engage fully with the material and learn more effectively.

My teaching focuses on:

- Breaking down complex problems step by step

- Explaining key concepts and techniques clearly

- Developing effective problem-solving strategies

- Improving speed, accuracy, and confidence in exams

Lessons are structured, practical, and exam-focused. I work with students to tackle challenging topics, practise past papers, and master key methods so they can approach Maths exams with confidence. The aim is measurable improvement—better understanding, better technique, better results.

My daughter uses Sandy as her tutor. I'm honestly going to say that it was the best decision we have made for a long time. She is attentive and really cares about improving all items which need addressing . I would 100% recommend her as all areas My daughter was struggling with have improved no end. We feel lucky to have found her.

Thank you so much for this lovely feedback, John. Working with your daughter has been a joy - she’s one of the most dedicated and engaged pupils I’ve taught. It’s wonderful to see her progress and enthusiasm for learning, and I’m sincerely grateful for your trust. I look forward to continuing to guide her growth and learning in the future.
