My lessons are designed to be supportive, engaging, and tailored to each student’s individual learning needs. I begin by understanding the student’s current level, their goals, and any areas they find challenging. From there, I structure lessons to break down complex biological concepts into clear, manageable steps.
Lessons typically combine explanation, discussion, and practice questions to help reinforce understanding and build confidence. I also incorporate exam-style questions and revision techniques to help students prepare effectively for assessments. My aim is not only to help students learn the material, but also to develop their problem-solving skills and confidence in approaching scientific topics.
As a PhD candidate in Biology, with a Master’s degree by Research and a First Class Honours Bachelor’s degree, I bring strong academic knowledge alongside experience teaching students across a range of ages and academic levels. I am passionate about helping students succeed and creating a positive learning environment where they feel comfortable asking questions and exploring ideas.
In addition to covering core biological topics, I aim to help students develop effective study habits and critical thinking skills that will support them beyond individual lessons. I encourage students to ask questions and actively engage with the material so they can build a deeper understanding rather than simply memorising information. Where helpful, I can also assist with revision planning, coursework guidance, and exam preparation strategies. My goal is to create a positive and encouraging learning environment where students feel supported, motivated, and confident in their ability to succeed in biology and science more broadly.
