My lessons are structured, personalised, and exam-focused, while remaining supportive and engaging. I create a focused but encouraging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and developing genuine confidence in their scientific ability.
Each session usually starts with a brief retrieval or recap task to check understanding and identify gaps. I then teach or revisit key content using clear explanations, diagrams, and worked examples, breaking complex topics into manageable steps. Where helpful, especially in Biology, I link concepts to real-world and clinical examples to deepen understanding and improve recall. I also incorporate active recall techniques and spaced practice to strengthen long-term retention.
Lessons include guided practice and exam-style questions, with detailed feedback on how to structure answers, using command words correctly, and avoiding common examiner mistakes. For GCSE and A-Level students, there is a strong focus on exam technique and confidence building, with progress reviewed regularly and lessons adapted to individual needs. I provide tailored revision strategies and high-yield resources to maximise grades efficiently.
I have over 10 years of tutoring experience alongside my role as a qualified UK secondary science teacher (PGCE with QTS). I currently teach students aged 11–18 and have experience supporting students from all backgrounds. My students consistently achieve strong improvements in both attainment and self-belief.
For medical school application coaching, sessions are practical and discussion-based. We work on personal statements, interview preparation (MMI and panel), reflective answers, and understanding what medical schools are looking for, with honest, constructive feedback throughout. I focus on helping applicants communicate motivation, insight, and professionalism clearly and authentically.
My teaching style is calm, supportive, and goal-driven, helping students develop strong subject knowledge, effective exam skills, and confidence in their abilities.
