Addressing the issue of not understanding is step 1.
Content is covered using examples and walkthroughs, as well as, a detailed explanation of why these steps take place.
After content is understood, student is given a chance to complete examples on their own, if struggling-help is provided.
By the end of the session student should find answering questions on the content straightforward and performed without aid.
This is done through teams calls and online resources curated specifically for the tutee.
The questions provided are a range of easy to hard so ensure fluency. Tutees are expected to be attentive, responsive and not afraid to speak up, ask questions or raise concerns.
I received a grade 9 for GCSE maths, as well as tutored GCSE peers during my A-Levels leaving them with at least a grade higher during their mocks, and reaching their goals in their GCSE results. I worked with a range of students at different levels as was able to guide them to success with a slow, controlled and intentional workspace that remains light and judge free. I have also received a grade A in my psychology A-Level and mentored other peers during their assessments.
