My lessons are tailored to each student’s goals, whether that’s improving confidence, preparing for exams, understanding difficult topics, or developing essay and revision skills. I aim to create a calm and supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and learning at their own pace.
For Psychology tutoring, I focus on helping students clearly understand key concepts rather than simply memorising content. Lessons may include breaking down theories and studies, improving exam technique, planning essays, and practising exam questions together.
For Biology, I help students build a strong understanding of key concepts and improve their ability to apply knowledge effectively in exam questions, helping them work towards the best grades they can achieve.
Our first lesson will focus on identifying where you currently are in the curriculum and where you want to be, so we can create clear goals and stay on track.
We’ll then explore which topics you feel strongest and weakest in to help build an effective plan for future lessons. We’ll also discuss which learning strategies work best for you, whether that’s visual, auditory, or more active learning methods, so lessons can be tailored to your needs.
As a previous tutor for Year 12 and Year 13 students, alongside holding Deputy Head Girl responsibilities, I have experience mentoring peers and supporting students with revision strategies, organisation, and confidence in class.
Prior to the first lesson, it would be helpful to know:
1. Your exam board (AQA, Edexcel, etc.)
2. Your current academic level, such as grades or report feedback
3. How you feel you learn best (visual, auditory, active learning, etc.) — although this can also be discovered over time.
