My lessons are friendly, supportive and tailored to each individual child. After 23 years as a primary teacher, I know that children learn in different ways, so I adapt my approach to suit their age, ability, interests and confidence.

I begin by finding out what your child already knows and identifying any areas where they may need extra support. Lessons then include a mixture of clear explanations, questioning, guided practice and activities, with regular opportunities for your child to demonstrate what they have understood.

I teach Primary English, Maths, Reading, Phonics and SATs preparation. I can work alongside your child's school learning, help to fill gaps in understanding or focus on a particular area they are finding difficult.

I want children to feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. I use encouragement and positive feedback to help them recognise their progress and develop confidence as learners.

For younger children, I keep activities varied and engaging, while older pupils can work towards specific goals and develop their independence and confidence with assessments.

I have extensive experience teaching across the primary age range and have administered Year 2 and Year 6 SATs, the Year 1 Phonics Screening Check and Year 4 Multiplication Tables Check.

My aim is for every child to finish a lesson feeling that they have achieved something and are more confident than when they started.
