My students often comment that they feel safe and warmly supported in my lessons and classes, without any competition. Everyone is welcome. Everyone can do yoga.
My lessons are tailored to your needs and will not be the same each week because I add in new postures each week so there is variety so that you use different smaller muscle groups. I specialise in working the smaller muscles rather than just the larger muscle groups which supports the core and the inner body much more. You will learn about your body, creating space in your body and you will learn to breathe correctly so that your energy is increased - diaphragmatic abdominal breathing.
My lessons are not like ashtanga or power yoga with big continuous fast movements but rather I work slower with you, to engage the whole body with awareness of what you are doing and creating when you do the yoga postures. This way you really learn a lot about how the body works well and what is happening when you make the movements.
There is no forcing, pushing and pulling of joints and muscles, rather more spacious movements.
I usually start and end the lesson with quietness and and surrendering and focus on the breath, in order to switch the nervous system from fight and flight to the parasympathetic mode of rest and digest, which reduces stress dramatically and prepares you for the lesson as well as your day or night ahead.
