I offer personalised English tutoring designed to help students become more confident, capable and independent writers.

English is a subject where understanding the basics is only the beginning. My approach focuses on helping students understand why something works, rather than simply memorising model answers. Whether a student is struggling with grammar, finding it difficult to structure their writing, preparing for exams, or aiming for the very highest grades, I tailor each session to their individual needs.

I have always had a particularly strong ability in English and writing, with a genuine passion for literature, creative writing and the power of language. I also have experience developing English learning material for younger students, which has taught me how important it is to explain ideas clearly and adapt them to different ages and abilities.

My lessons are friendly but focused. I want students to feel comfortable making mistakes, asking questions and experimenting with their writing, while still being challenged to improve. Rather than simply correcting a piece of work, I explain how the student can recognise and fix similar problems independently next time.

For younger students, I can make lessons engaging through creative exercises, vocabulary development and structured activities. For GCSE students, I can focus more specifically on analytical writing, essay structure, exam technique, creative writing and developing sophisticated interpretations.

My goal isn’t simply to help a student get through their next assignment or exam. It is to give them the skills, confidence and understanding to become genuinely strong communicators.
