My lessons will focus on making psychology simple, clear, and easy to understand. I understand that some psychological concepts can seem extremely difficult or confusing at first, so I will take the time to break the work down into smaller, manageable sections and explain each concept step by step.
At the beginning of a lesson, I will look at the learner’s work, identify the areas they are struggling with, and explain those areas. However, I will not only focus on the parts they are struggling with but will also go through the material they understand to reinforce their knowledge and ensure they have a well-rounded understanding of the topic. I will explain concepts in simple terms and use examples from everyday life to help the learner relate the theory to situations they are familiar with. Where appropriate, I will also ask questions throughout the lesson to check their understanding and encourage them to think critically about the material.
I have experience as a Graduate Lecturing Assistant (GLA), where I had the opportunity to lecture university students. I delivered three lectures under the supervision of the module coordinator and lecturer. I worked through course material, prepared presentation slides, and developed examples that helped make complex concepts easier for students to understand. This experience taught me the importance of presenting information in a clear, engaging, and structured way while considering different levels of understanding.
My goal is not simply to give learners the answers but to help them understand the material well enough to explain it in their own words and apply what they have learned. I will also adapt my teaching approach according to each learner’s pace, level of understanding, and specific academic needs. I want learners to feel comfortable asking questions and confident in their ability to improve.
