Highly experienced chemistry tutor across multiple levels, with an Enhanced DBS check. At another tutoring company, I've recently focused on Oxbridge admissions, helping students edit their personal statements. Together, we considered the student's experience, including competitions and supercurricular reading, and distilled it into a concise narrative that highlighted the student's aptitude and enthusiasm for the subject. This aims to link supercurricular reading to the A-level syllabus and to university-level work, showing how the student is preparing for the course.

I also have experience conducting mock interviews. These focus on building on assumed A-level knowledge and pushing students out of their comfort zone, encouraging them to share their thoughts throughout. Where possible, I can share feedback on delivery as well as content; students have found it leaves them more confident and prepared for interviews.

I helped a student achieve an A* in A-level Edexcel Chemistry. We did this by assessing the student's learning style and discussing any neurodivergence. She felt most comfortable working through past papers, and as the exam approached, our sessions focused on answering questions and analysing mark schemes. I ensured that the sessions were well laid out, gave the student as much advance notice as possible, and communicated clearly throughout.

In 2021, I provided weekly unpaid tutoring to two students to help them start GCSE Chemistry and guide them through the process. During this time, we went through the students' homework and any classwork they struggled with, and I helped them understand it. To do this, I worked through similar problems with them and explained concepts when I noticed gaps in their knowledge. We also discussed any further reading or content they could review to better understand the material outside session time.
