My Background & Experience

I am a native British English speaker and retired senior Airline Captain with nearly three decades of experience navigating high-stakes international communication and corporate management. Over a 28-year career with Monarch Airlines, I directed multicultural flight crews, spent 10 years leading complex trade union negotiations, and served as a corporate Pension Trustee. My extensive professional life has been defined by clear, precise, and persuasive communication with colleagues, executive boards, and the public.

Complementing my professional background is a rigorous academic foundation. I hold a First-Class Honours BSc in Natural Sciences from the Open University, a BSc in Physics with Mathematics from the University of Reading, and am currently completing postgraduate MSc modules in Corporate Finance and Astrophysics. Having won multiple national essay competitions in my youth, I possess a deep, explicit, and structural understanding of linguistics and technical vocabulary.

A typical one-hour online lesson follows a clear, professional flight-plan model:

• The Briefing: A quick check-in to establish today’s target goals.
• The Flight: Immersive, focused conversational exercises, interview simulations, or technical vocabulary role-play.
• The Debrief: Constructive, real-time feedback on pronunciation and natural phrasing.
