Holly Sharman

Hi, I’m a fully qualified primary school teacher with over 15 years of experience in primary teaching. I taught in London for 3 years and now teach in Manchester. Throughout my career, I have taught children with a wide range of abilities and individual needs, and I understand that every child learns differently. I offer private tutoring across the primary curriculum, with a particular focus on English and Maths, including reading, writing, spelling, grammar, comprehension, phonics and key mathematical skills. I can support children who may be finding certain areas of their schoolwork challenging, help them to catch up and strengthen their understanding, or provide additional challenge for children who are ready to work beyond what they are currently doing in school. I can also provide support with SATs preparation and help children feel more confident when approaching assessments. My teaching style is friendly, encouraging and completely tailored to each child. I want my lessons to feel relaxed and enjoyable while still being purposeful, allowing children to learn without feeling pressured or worried about getting things wrong. I believe that confidence is a huge part of successful learning, so I focus on celebrating progress, building independence and helping children understand that making mistakes is simply part of learning. My aim is for every child I work with to feel more confident in their abilities, develop a stronger understanding of their schoolwork and, most importantly, enjoy learning.
