I am a British native English speaker with a BA (Honours) in English, a Master of Arts in English, and a PGCE in Education. I also completed a TEFL qualification in March 2026 and hold a Safeguarding for Children certification, ensuring that I maintain the highest standards of student welfare and professional practice.

For the past eleven years, I have been teaching GCSE and IGCSE English Language and English Literature. During this time, I have had the privilege of teaching A Level and GCSE students in London, as well as IGCSE and ESL students in Islamabad, Pakistan, which has provided me with valuable international teaching experience.

I am currently teaching IGCSE Pearson Edexcel English Language and English Literature, as well as Cambridge A Level English Literature. I am also able to prepare students for other examination boards, including OCR, Cambridge, and AQA.

In addition, I offer preparation for the 11 Plus examination, ESOL, and IELTS, supporting students in developing the academic and language skills required for success.

In 2023, I had the honour of receiving two Outstanding Teacher Awards for English Literature at the Pearson Edexcel High Achievers’ Award Ceremony. I have also attended several professional training and development courses related to my area of specialisation, ensuring that my teaching methods remain effective, engaging, and up to date.

I am a competent, compassionate, and professional educator who is empathetic, punctual, hardworking, patient, and dedicated to helping students reach their full potential.

In my teaching practice, I utilise a range of resources and instructional methods, including PowerPoint presentations, supporting videos, structured exercises, essay-based questions, and past paper practice. I also incorporate scaffolded preparatory questions to help students build confidence and develop the analytical and examination skills required for success.

Reading and discussing texts in class is a central part of my teaching approach. This is supported through PowerPoint presentations, guided discussions, lectures, essay-writing practice, and targeted examination preparation activities.

Furthermore, I encourage independent student learning through activities and tasks aligned with the syllabus, examination specifications, and past paper practice. These tasks include not only examination-style questions but also independent research projects designed to deepen students’ understanding and analytical abilities.

Finally, I tailor my lessons to meet each student’s individual needs, strengths, and learning objectives, ensuring that every learner receives personalised support to help them succeed academically and develop confidence in their abilities.
