I have over a year experience in tutoring and have supported students from ages 7-16 in their understanding of English Language and Literature. I begin by offering a free online meet, where I ask you (and your parents if able) your goals and expectations of tuition, as well as your current grade and target grade, and how you best learn. I take a friendly approach and aim to ensure that we can be honest and have a positive outlook on the subject. I aim for consistently engaging sessions tailored to your individual needs. Everybody is different, and I want to build an honest and open environment in order understand the best learning techniques for you.

Lessons are typically structured around a clear focus, whether that’s building confidence in essay writing, improving reading comprehension, or preparing for exams such as GCSEs. I like to begin each session with a short recap or starter activity to reinforce previous learning, before introducing a new skill or topic in a manageable, step-by-step way.

We’ll often work through texts together, breaking down language, structure, and themes, and I’ll guide you in developing your own interpretations and ideas. For writing, I support students in planning, structuring, and refining their responses, with a focus on clarity, argument, and meeting mark scheme criteria.

I also incorporate practice questions, exam techniques, and revision strategies to help you feel confident and prepared. Between sessions, I can provide optional tasks or feedback to support steady progress.

My lessons are interactive and discussion-based, encouraging you to ask questions, think critically, and build confidence in your own voice.
