Giuseppe Grondona

I was born in Bari and am now based in London, where I have built a career as a performer and university lecturer since 2005. Over the past two decades, I have collaborated with a wide range of artists, including Tormento (Sottotono), Bosco De Oliveira (Airto Moreira, Sade), Femi Temowo (Wynton Marsalis, Amy Winehouse), Simon Carter (Jamiroquai), Svetlana Vassileva (Moby), John Wheatcroft (Carl Palmer), Danilo Riccardi (Renato Zero), and TM Stevens (James Brown), among others.
My career includes international tours, studio recordings, live TV performances, and appearances at major festivals such as the Ealing Jazz Festival, the London Drum Show, Untold Festival, and the Lucca Summer Festival.

After graduating from the N. Piccinni Conservatoire in Bari in 2001, I moved into teaching, holding positions at Drumtech, Tech Music School, and since 2012 at BIMM London, where I am currently Lead Lecturer for the BMus in Popular Music Performance. Over the years, I have mentored over a thousand students, many of whom now perform with major artists, including Simon Tellier (Pet Shop Boys, Jason Derulo), Fabio De Oliveira (George Clinton, Jacob Collier), Rufus Taylor (Queen), Jamie Murray (Robben Ford), Vicky O’Neon (Anastacia) and Naomi Forbes (Paloma Faith).

I am also the author of the Amazon best-selling drum method The Essentials of Hip Hop Drumming, published by Fundamental Changes and distributed worldwide.
