As a prize-winning pianist with years of experience in both solo and chamber performance, I bring not only professional expertise but also a deep passion for teaching. I hold a Master’s degree in Piano Studies from the University of York, and a Bachelor’s degree in Music Performance (Piano) from Tianjin Conservatory of Music. Over the years, I have guided students of different ages and levels, many of whom have successfully passed ABRSM exams from Grade 1 up to Grade 8 with excellent results.
In my lessons, I aim to combine solid technical training with the development of musicality and expression. A typical class usually begins with warm-up exercises, focusing on posture, hand position, and finger technique. From there, we work on scales, arpeggios, and studies to build strength, agility, and control. Alongside this, we focus on repertoire that is suited to the student’s level, gradually moving from classical foundations to more advanced works. For younger learners, I use engaging methods to keep lessons enjoyable, while for adults I adapt the pace to meet their goals, whether that is preparing for exams or simply rediscovering the joy of playing.
My teaching goes beyond just “playing the right notes.” I encourage students to listen, interpret, and communicate through their playing, helping them to develop a lifelong appreciation for music. Whether you are a complete beginner or an advanced student, I provide structured yet flexible lessons designed to help you progress with confidence and enjoyment.
