My lessons are designed to be clear, structured, and genuinely enjoyable for students who want to improve their confidence in History. I focus on building strong exam skills, developing critical thinking, and helping students understand how to construct high-quality arguments. Each session follows a consistent format: a short warm-up to check understanding, a focused explanation of the topic, guided practice, and exam-style application so students can immediately use what they’ve learned.
I tailor every lesson to the student’s level, whether they need help with content knowledge, essay writing, source analysis, or revision planning. I break down complex ideas into simple, manageable steps and show students how to approach questions in a way that examiners reward. We work with real past papers, model answers, and personalised feedback so progress is visible from week to week.
My teaching style is friendly, patient, and supportive. I encourage students to think independently, ask questions, and engage with the subject rather than memorise facts. I also help them develop the skills exam boards look for: clear argument structure, effective use of evidence, and strong evaluation.
As a History student at the University of Exeter, I bring up-to-date academic knowledge and a genuine passion for the subject. I understand what makes a strong essay and how to communicate ideas clearly. My goal is to help every student feel more confident, more prepared, and more capable of achieving the grades they want.
