I achieved an A in A level maths and a 9 at GCSE level. Maths was never particularly something that came naturally despite this, I had to make sure I understood why rules applied instead of just knowing that they did, once I understood why instead of just remembering, not only did the subject become so much easier, it actually became so enjoyable. This rewarding feeling is something I would love to share with anyone struggling with maths so my lessons would focus on first understanding the topics at a deep enough level to understand why they work not just that they exist and we need to remember it, once we have done that together we will run through practice question examples together until I send you off to do some on your own and we will review how you did after this, next lesson we will review a new topic but do two practice questions from the previous lesson to help make sure the information stays in your long-term memory, I will also set practice questions for you to do between lessons. If maths is not a struggle for you and it is rather dealing with exam stress and revision, I believe I found the perfect balance for myself in working and time to enjoy doing what I wanted to do, making sure I was always well prepared for exams but never burnt out or tired, none of this revise 6 hours a day in the holidays, I always felt rest was just as important as the revision while still feeling like I was prepared and knew the content when completing the exam. I also achieved A* in Geography and an A in economics at A level if these subjects need targeting more.
