My lessons are built around real-life use, whether you’re learning Swahili for travel, work, or homeschooling. Each session begins with a quick check-in: What do you need Swahili for this week? Ordering food on a trip to Mombasa? Writing a professional email in Nairobi? Or helping your child with homeschool curriculum? From there, we shape the lesson to match your goal.
For travel, we focus on practical phrases, cultural tips, and confidence-building conversations role-playing hotel check-ins, market bargaining, or asking for directions. For work, we polish professional vocabulary, email etiquette, and presentation language suited to East African contexts. For homeschooling, I provide structured, age-appropriate materials: stories, dialogues, and exercises that align with common curricula while keeping learning engaging.
I teach in a warm, conversational style. You’ll speak Swahili from the first lesson, even if it’s just simple greetings. We’ll mix listening, speaking, reading, and writing, using real-world materials like news clips, songs, or short stories. Mistakes are welcome they’re how you learn. I also share cultural notes, so you understand not just the words, but the context behind them.
With years of experience teaching Swahili to professionals, travelers, and families in Nairobi and beyond, I know how to adapt lessons to different ages, levels, and purposes. My approach is patient but purposeful: you’ll see progress quickly because every activity ties back to your personal goals.
By the end of our time together, you’ll not only communicate more confidently in Swahili you’ll also have a toolkit of phrases, resources, and study habits to keep improving on your own, whether you’re boarding a plane, walking into a meeting, or guiding your child’s learning at home.
