I'm a Modern Languages and Linguistics student studying French and Spanish, with over a year's experience tutoring one-to-one and teaching in classroom settings. As a tutor, I build personalised lesson plans around each student's goals, constantly assessing progress and adjusting my approach so lessons stay relevant to the stage they are at, not just where the syllabus says they should be. I also spent four weeks as an ESOL Teacher for Project International, teaching English to classes of teenagers from five different countries, which taught me a lot about making lessons accessible when students are all starting from different points.

My teaching style centres on structure with variety. I usually build a topic around a PowerPoint that introduces the core language, subject, and grammar clearly. I then break the lesson into a series of shorter activities that circle back to the same topic from different angles— a game, a discussion prompt, a quick written task— so students meet the same vocabulary and ideas several times without it feeling repetitive. I find this keeps energy up and helps things actually stick, especially with topics and grammar that could otherwise feel dry.

Alongside my subject knowledge, I bring patience, adaptability, and a genuine interest in how people learn differently. Having studied languages myself, I understand how frustrating it can be when a concept doesn't click, and I try to create a relaxed environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. I'm organised, reliable, and always looking to refine my methods based on what worked and what didn't.
