Emma Burgoyne

I am a fully qualified teacher with 20 years of experience working with children aged 4–14, alongside 6 years of tutoring experience. I am passionate about helping children grow in confidence and develop a positive attitude towards learning.

My teaching style is engaging, supportive, and tailored to each individual child. I believe that children learn best when they feel relaxed and motivated, so I incorporate games, interactive activities, and their personal interests into sessions to make learning enjoyable and meaningful. I also use rewards and regular brain breaks to maintain focus and keep children feeling positive and encouraged.

Alongside tutoring, I currently work part-time in a school, which allows me to stay up to date with the latest teaching practices, curriculum changes, and training. This ensures that my tutoring reflects current classroom expectations and provides relevant, effective support.

I provide support in spelling, reading, writing, maths, times tables, and phonics, helping children make clear and steady progress. I have extensive experience working with children with additional needs, including dyslexia, ADHD, and autism, and I adapt my approach to suit different learning styles.

Above all, I focus on building strong relationships with my students so they feel comfortable, understood, and confident in their abilities, enabling them to reach their full potential.
