Ella Coates

I am an outgoing and passionate tutor with experience working with children from age 6-16 on curriculums ranging from the 11+ exams to Maths GCSE. I have significant experience working with and caring for people with special needs which makes me a patient, adaptable, and understanding tutor.

As a student in my final year at Durham University, I study French and Arabic, though I have also studied Spanish for over 7 years and have a keen eye for Maths (I achieved an A* in my Further Maths A-level). Beyond the academic curriculum I have lots of other interests such as music and sport. I will endeavour to incorporate your interests into our sessions too in order to make learning an exciting and interesting experience for you. We could practice speaking French while discussing your favourite football players! As someone who is still in education, I am able to teach using the most recent and up-to-date methods to ensure you are learning to the best of your ability.

Our first lesson will always be about working out what you are good at and the areas you need a bit of help with. In following lessons, we will begin by going over a concept or a skill, ensuring you have understood and asked any questions before putting it into practice! To finish off, we will review any mistakes or any questions you might have. Every few sessions, we will take some time to ensure that you have understood our recent topics and give you the chance to revise and improve your long-term memory of the subject.
