My lessons are structured, purposeful and designed around measurable progress.
Each student begins with a short diagnostic discussion so I can understand their exam board, current level and target grade. From there, I create a focused plan tailored to their assessment objectives and areas for improvement. I do not simply reteach content — I prioritise exam technique, analytical depth and clear argument structure.
A typical session includes:
• Retrieval practice to strengthen long-term retention
• Breaking down complex theory into clear, applicable points
• Modelled essay structure and paragraph construction
• Timed exam-style practice
• Immediate, detailed feedback
• Clear next steps for independent study
For GCSE and A-level students, I align closely with mark schemes and examiner expectations. We work explicitly on AO1, AO2 and AO3 skills so students understand how to secure top-band marks rather than relying on guesswork.
For undergraduate students, I focus on academic writing, critical evaluation, referencing and dissertation structure. My background as an award-winning researcher allows me to guide students through literature engagement, argument development and methodological clarity with confidence.
I place strong emphasis on building independent study skills. Students learn how to revise effectively, structure essays under timed conditions and approach assessments strategically. Parents receive reassurance that sessions are structured, focused and outcome-driven.
My teaching style is calm, encouraging and academically rigorous. I set high standards while creating a supportive environment in which students feel confident to ask questions and refine their thinking.
The goal is not just improved grades - but the development of analytical skills that support long-term academic success.
