With over 30 years of professional experience as a pianist, composer, performer, and music educator, I bring a wealth of real-world knowledge to every lesson. My teaching combines proven educational methods with practical industry experience, giving students the opportunity to develop not only excellent technique and note-reading skills, but also musical expression, creativity, confidence, and performance ability.
Rather than following a one-size-fits-all approach, I believe every student deserves lessons that are motivating and relevant to their interests. Students are encouraged to build strong foundations in technique, rhythm, sight-reading, ear training, scales, improvisation, and musical interpretation, while developing the confidence to perform and express themselves through music. My aim is to create independent, well-rounded musicians who enjoy playing long after the lesson has finished.
For those wishing to gain formal qualifications, I offer expert preparation for ABRSM, Trinity College London, and Rockschool examinations. My students receive structured guidance throughout the entire process, helping them develop the skills, confidence, and musical understanding needed to achieve excellent results.
