Dr. Rishi Maman

My lessons are very diverse and interactive, I enjoy engaging with my students and encouraging them to speak openly, I like them to be confident and not worried about making mistakes as it is from our mistakes we can then learn. Being a Medical Doctor I often speak to non-native speaking patients, I feel this gives me an insight in to common pitfalls that non-native English speakers fall in to. In my day job I take complex ideas and make them simple enough for a patient with no medical knowledge to understand, I carry this same skill in to teaching English as a language.

At University whilst studying Medicine I also tutored a wide range of medical subjects to international students, I also however tutored English in my spare time. This experience was invaluable as it gave me an understanding of what areas of the English language some people find hard to grasp e.g. sentence structure, verb use.
