Dr Marguerite El Badini

I’m Dr Marguerite Quinn, a Cambridge-trained Chemistry tutor with a PhD in Chemistry, a Master’s in Education, and a PGCE. I have over 3,000 hours of teaching experience, supporting students across GCSE, A-Level, IB, and undergraduate Chemistry.

My teaching focuses on building real understanding rather than memorisation. Many students struggle in Chemistry not because they lack ability, but because concepts are not explained clearly or linked together. I break down complex topics into simple, logical steps, helping students see how everything connects.

Lessons are highly structured and tailored to the student’s level and goals. Each session typically includes:

Exam-style questions and technique
Targeted feedback to improve performance

A strong emphasis is placed on exam technique. Students learn how to interpret questions, structure answers, and avoid common mistakes that cost marks. This is often the difference between a B and an A or A*.

I offer both small group classes (maximum 6 students) and individual support. Small groups are carefully managed to ensure every student is engaged and supported, while also benefiting from discussion and shared learning.

I also provide support for high-achieving students aiming for top grades or competitive university applications, including preparation for Chemistry Olympiad and Oxbridge interviews.
