I am passionate about teaching piano and have taught in-person for 32 years, online for 7 years. My aim is to help you learn to play the piano as enjoyably as possible, expressing all kinds of emotions for a lifetime, whether professionally or for enjoyment. My teachers were pupils of historically and world-renowned concert pianists and I am a descendant of Beethoven, musically.
I have developed my own method of learning music based on neuroscience, effective for beginners to professionals. I have also developed my own system to help you sight-read new music quickly. You will be taught a solid foundation of technique on which to base playing fluently.
I am both a concert pianist and teacher, having had the honour of performing as a concerto soloist with the Philadelphia Orchestra at age 13, winning numerous awards in the US and an International award and performing in New York, Delaware, Cambridge (UK) London, Portugal, Israel, Italy, North Africa and the Mediterranean.
My students have been international award winners, regional (Shanghai) award winners, local (Cambridge) award winners, including 1st place for Cambridge Young Musicians in Piano 10-12 years old. 6 of my students have gone on to study in Conservatory or made a career in music, but ALL have enjoyed music for a lifetime. Students achieve Distinction and Merits in Graded Exams. Many choose not to sit exams, but to learn piano for enjoyment's sake.
