Struggling with complex pathways or the dreaded 6-mark questions? I’m Courtney, a Science teacher and Marine Biology graduate and I help students turn "I don't get it" into "I’ve got this."

As a science teacher I understand that the content can be intense and quite daunting to learn. This is why I try to make my lessons as engaging as possible so that you enjoy learning about science, helping you to remember more. I use a mix of teacher talk, quizzing and interactive tasks to work through content for students to build their knowledge and become independent learners. Each lesson will finish with a task aimed to capture your learning experience to allow any improvements for the following lesson, ensuring that you get the best learning experience possible. Science should be fun! With my lessons you will learn about current interesting developments to help you excel in your science education.

Beyond the textbook, I bring a deep passion for Marine Biology. Why does this matter for your GCSE or A-Level?

Real-World Application: I use examples from ocean ecosystems—like coral reef resilience or deep-sea adaptations—to explain complex concepts like natural selection, homeostasis, and nutrient cycling.

STEM Skills: My background in marine research helps me teach data analysis and the scientific method through the lens of real conservation challenges, making these abstract topics far more concrete.

Inspiration & Impact: Biology is more than just passing an exam; it’s about understanding our planet. Whether we’re discussing climate change or biodiversity, I aim to foster a genuine curiosity that makes studying feel like an adventure, not a chore.

All new students will receive a free welcome session for us to get to know each other and ease into the learning. This allows me to develop a mid-term plan to best suit your learning and academic goals.
