About Me

Hello, I’m Connor, and I’m currently studying a PGCE in Secondary Mathematics, training to become a qualified Maths teacher. I have two years of experience working as a Teaching Assistant in a secondary school, where I supported students across KS3, GCSE and A-Level, including students with SEN and a wide range of learning needs.

I understand that Maths can be a challenging subject, and that students can struggle for different reasons. My approach is therefore patient, supportive and tailored to each individual student. I focus on breaking difficult concepts down into clear, manageable steps and adapting my explanations until the student finds an approach that works for them.

My aim is not simply to help students find the correct answer, but to develop their understanding, confidence and ability to solve problems independently. For GCSE and A-Level students, I can also provide support with exam preparation, revision and exam technique.

Academically, I achieved an A in A-Level Mathematics and a Grade 8 in GCSE Mathematics, and I hold a Master’s degree in Psychology. My Psychology background has given me a strong understanding of learning, motivation and individual differences, which complements my practical experience in education and current teacher training.

Whether a student needs help with a particular topic, wants to prepare for exams, or simply needs to build their confidence in Maths, I aim to provide a friendly and supportive environment where they can make progress and reach their potential.
